PLEXOS Modelling
1. The Organisation
Western Power is a Western Australian State Government owned corporation which builds, maintains, and operates the electricity network in the South-West corner of Western Australia.
The Western Power electricity network forms the majority of the Southwest Interconnected Network (SWIN) which together with the electricity generators, comprises the Southwest Interconnected System (SWIS).
Western Power’s vision is to deliver on the changing energy needs of Western Australia, powered by community trust and the passion of its people.
2. The Scope
Western Power is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations, for the provision of PLEXOS Modelling services.
Services required would include but not limited to:
• Methodology, input, scenarios, and assumptions review.
• Model calibration and validation (e.g. backcasting).
• Simulation and analysis of existing models.
• Bespoke methodology development and implementation.
• A formal report will typically be required for all services that outlines the work undertaken, model outputs and analysis. Additionally, an input workbook and PLEXOS model would also be required deliverables in most circumstances.
• Each service provider must have its own PLEXOS license(s).
3. EOI Requirements
Please address the following areas as part of your response:
Relevant Experience and Track Record
• Demonstrate your organisations capability, skills and track record (including CVs of key personnel) in delivering the services in relation to the high-level Scope requirements stated above.
• Prior experience working with transmission networks in PLEXOS is highly valued.
• References from at least three customers who have been offered similar services.
4. Lodgement Closing Date and Time
Closing date for Responses is 12 noon (AWST) Wednesday 5th March 2025
Lodgement and Delivery of Responses:
(a) Western Power may, at its absolute discretion, elect to consider or reject a Response that is received after the Closing of Responses.
(b) Except with Western Power’s prior approval, a Response is to be delivered by email and must be:
(i) provided as an attachment to the email.
(ii) sent to kate.watkins@westernpower.com.au
(iii) Western Power may, at its absolute discretion, suspend or cancel this EOI at any time.
A guarantee of work allocation or revenue from Western Power is not suggested nor implied in any way by the EOI.
