We’re building a network for life

There are networks all around us - they are integral to our lives. Our network of friends, the network of streets we navigate every day, the network of organisms that make up the natural beauty of our state, the networks of business and community groups.

And there is one network that helps all those other networks thrive. The electricity network.

Western Power and the electricity network help the community and industry achieve their decarbonisation goals and provide safe, resilient, and affordable electricity.

While the future is in our sights, we’re also firmly focused on maintaining and transitioning the existing network to continue delivering resilient power in the face of increasing climate change impacts. This includes the connection of more renewables each year, continued investment in undergrounding in urban areas, overhead network upgrades, and enhancements including increased capacity via transformer upgrades and the installation of more advanced meters.

We continue to reshape, enhance, and expand the network that’s been a vital part of WA for many years, and will continue to play a pivotal role as we help transition the state to net zero.

At Western Power, we’re constantly upgrading the network to be more resilient and sustainable as WA transitions to net zero by 2050. Find out more about what we’re doing to build and manage a network for life, for all of life’s networks.
