Register to become a sensitive customer
Western Power has to set restoration priority on a day-to-day basis. In the case of widespread power outages (such as storms or bushfires), we need to prioritise certain parts of the network for restoration.
‘Sensitive customers’ are Western Power’s priority customers commercial and industrial businesses with sensitive loads such as hospitals, utilities, large public venues and heavy industry with environmental concerns.
Sensitive customers also include those using life support equipment at home.
Eligibility to become a sensitive customer
To become a sensitive customer, you need to meet the relevant criteria, which is based on a risk assessment including risk of injury and fatality that may result from a power interruption.

If your business meets the criteria to become a sensitive customer, you should fill in the application to become a sensitive customerand return the form to Western Power as soon as possible.
