We actively pursue social and economic opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, trainees and suppliers. We’re fostering commercial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses as part of our organisational procurement strategy, and our numbers of Aboriginal supplier contracts already exceed the requirements of the State’s Aboriginal Procurement Policy Standard.

We’ll continue reviewing and improving our procurement policies and procedures to ensure there are no barriers for procurement from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses. Reviewing policies and procedures to remove barriers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait employees assists full labour force participation.

Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staffing strategies inform future employment and professional development opportunities. Engaging with our current Aboriginal employees helps us understand their lived experience so we can be more effective in our selection and retention strategies, professional development pathways and career progression.

We actively recruit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to join our business. Apprenticeships are advertised on our website, Seek, jobs and skills centres, on social media, through various high schools as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and our partners.
