Working near transmission and communication assets

Use this service if

You require one or more of the following:

  • clearance assessment
  • civil Structural assessment
  • ground level change assessment
  • easement assessment
  • provision of technical data for a consultant to conduct an Earth Potential
  • rise/Low Frequency Induction Studies (EPR/LFI)
  • review EPR/LFI report
  • de-energisation of transmission line or cable

How long will it take?

  • 1 week to process application and issue initial invoice
  • 1 week to provide a quote once $250 invoice is paid
  • 2 weeks to provide assessment once estimated costs are paid
  • 8 weeks to schedule a de-energisation once estimated costs are paid (any amendments of de-energisation dates will require a further 8 weeks’ notice)

What if I change my mind?

If changes to the original application are considerable, a new application may be required.

What if I want to cancel my application?

Following the cancellation, expiry, termination or variation of the Customer Work Request or any other aspect of the works or documentation relating to the works, the customer may be liable to pay an administration fee of $250 + GST and any additional costs incurred by Western Power.

What do I need to complete this application?

Depending on the work you plan to conduct, you may need to provide some of the following:

  • detailed works methodology
  • line survey
  • detailed design drawings in MGA format
  • EPR/LFI report

How much will it cost?

Costs can vary depending on the works and assessment required, which will be estimated and quoted to the customer 5 business days following the payment of the $250 initial invoice.  All services are conducted on a full cost recovery basis.
