Becoming a supplier

Western Power invites prospective suppliers to 'register your interest' by providing key information to help us understand your business and the types of materials, goods and/or services you offer. Submission of a completed supplier registration does not confirm approval or pre-qualification status on any supplier or guarantee you the opportunity to formally quote for work. The award of any business by Western Power will follow an established procurement process in line with Western Power approved policies, standards and guidelines.

Information received will be treated in confidence but may be disclosed to any part of Western Power as part of the supplier registration process. To ensure that we review the most up to date information, all existing and prospective suppliers should submit a new registration each year, or earlier if there are changes to information previously submitted.

Please complete the online form below ensuring all mandatory fields have been completed prior to submitting your details. All information is to be completed electronically.

Prior to completing the supplier registration form, Western Power recommends you read the suppliers and tenderers FAQs. If you require further information to complete the form please email Procurement Operations.

Our network is undergoing major transformation to cater for an increase in Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and new grid solutions like microgrids, which are changing the operating dynamics of our business.

We are going to market to select and trial a Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) platform and to explore how this platform can contribute to the safe, reliable and efficient management and operation of our changing network.

The trial of the platform is expected to run from product selection in May 2019 for a period of 6-12 months, to inform and demonstrate relevant capabilities to Western Power and our key stakeholders.

The primary objective of the DERMS trial is to validate one or more of the following four hypotheses:

  1. DERMS can provide Western Power with adequate visibility and control of the Distribution Network and connected DER.
  2. Existing customers can leverage a DERMS platform to maximise network benefits.
  3. DERMS can be effectively integrated into Western Power’s enterprise architecture and network operations.
  4. Capabilities to manage DER can be leveraged to defer network augmentation investments.

Whilst not explicitly part of the DERMS trial, we will also welcome and consider other value-add services that leverage the capabilities of the DERMS platform and provide additional functionality.

To be considered for the inclusion in an Expression of Interest, please register your interest by completing the form below by 1 March 2019.

Please ensure to include the following information:

  • Under the Reason for Registration, select 'in response to an advertised bid' and enter the procurement event: SR1637027222 Distributed Energy Resource Management System Trial Project.
