Changes to application and design fees

On 16 August 2019, we'll introduce a revised fee structure that includes an upfront application fee, new designs fees, and revised information/conformance services fees for all distribution customer projects. Find out more.

Apply for this if you want a new electricity supply for a multi-residential development with a maximum demand of 250A/180kVA or less.

How long will it take?

  • 7 weeks to provide you with a quote
  • 10 weeks to build once payment is received and customer has confirmed with Western Power the site is ready for construction

How much will it cost?

The cost of an electricity supply is dependent on how much power you require:

Size of your desired supply Cost range

14.1kVA (3 group lots / dwellings) – 31kVA (10 group lots / dwellings)

$7,000 - $15,400

31kVA (10 group lots / dwellings) – 62kVA (20 group lots / dwellings)

$15,400 – $30,800

In most cases, the cost will be based on the Distribution Low Voltage Charges Headworks Scheme.

Cost breakdown:

  • Application fee - $495
  • Design fee*:
    • Standard - $1,320
    • Detailed - $3,300
    • Complex - $6,600
  • Construction - we will provide you with a quote
  • Cancellation fee - $550
*While the design fee is GST inclusive, the GST exclusive amount will be deducted from the access offer if proceeding, i.e. GST is not refunded.
