Disconnections

There are many reasons that you may need to disconnect from Western Power's network. Maybe it's for a renovation project or you need to ensure the safety of a job being done near powerlines. Whatever the reason our table outlines the options.

Please note if you have received a notice about being disconnected due to billing issues, please contact your retailer.

Use this service if

You are doing work that requires temporary disconnection of your electricity supply

You want a temporary or permanent disconnections above a standard supply

You are doing work that requires part of the Western Power electricity network to be isolated

You are doing work that requires part of the Western Power electricity network to be isolated

How long will it take?

  • 3 weeks to disconnect after application is received
  • 3 weeks to provide you with a quote
  • 10 weeks to construct
  • 3 weeks to provide you with a quote
  • 10 weeks to isolate once payment is received
  • 2 weeks to provide you with a quote
  • 8 weeks to isolate once payment is received

Initial $250 application fee + estimated isolation fee (quote)

Fees and charges

Following the cancellation, expiry, termination or variation of the Customer Work Request or any other aspect of the works or documentation relating to the works, the customer may be liable to pay an administration fee of $550 (inclusive of GST) and any additional costs incurred by Western Power.  Further information can be found in our Terms and Conditions clauses 8 and 16.3.

Costs will be reconciled on completion of the works; any additional costs will be invoiced and any underspend will be refunded.
