The Scorchers & Western Power will combine to raise funds for the victims of the WA bushfires.
The Perth Scorchers will this weekend join with the Club’s Community Education Partner Western Power to raise vital funds in support of the victims of the recent devastating bushfires in Waroona and surrounding townships.
The Scorchers will donate $1 for every person that attends this Saturday’s final home game of the regular season against the Melbourne Stars, combining with a pledge of $100,000 from Western Power.
Western Power employees will also volunteer to collect money at the 16 January match, with all funds raised to be directed to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund.
The fundraising initiative builds on the Scorchers backing of the Are You Ready? campaign throughout the summer that has featured players Brad Hogg, Jason Behrendorff and Sam Whiteman.
Perth Scorchers CEO Ms Christina Matthews said: “The bushfires that took hold in WA this month have devastated lives and communities and we send our most heartfelt thoughts to those affected.
“We hope through the combined fundraising efforts of Western Power and the Perth Scorchers, we can help to make a difference to those communities and lives affected by these fires.”
