Western Power commences Bullsbrook network restoration

Western Power has begun rebuilding parts of the electricity network that was destroyed by the Bullsbrook fire after the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) granted crews access to sections of the fire zone.

Western Power’s Head of Field Operations Brad Lacey said that crews have the huge job of restoring the network, which includes the replacement of more than 180 power poles and two kilometres of powerlines.

“Western Power crews will be working hard for at least a week to safely rebuild the network and help the Bullsbrook community return to normal as quickly as possible.

“Today we were granted access to safe areas of the fire zone, but we anticipate that Western Power will be given the all-clear tomorrow, which will allow more than 35 crews to join the restoration efforts,” he said.

Western Power advises anyone returning to the fire zone to be safe and if you see a fallen powerline or damaged equipment, stay well clear and make the safe call to our 24/7 emergency line on 13 13 51.

59 customers are without power because of the bushfire.
