Strong winds and lightning caused disruptions in the Perth metro

Western Power crews are working to restore electricity to approximately 6,000 customers in the metropolitan area following the crossing of a cold front overnight.

At the peak of the outage more than 13,000 customers lost power. Western Power crews have this morning safely restored supplies to more than 7,000 households.

Strong winds and lightning caused faults and damage to the network.

What to do:

1) if you see fallen power lines - stay clear and call Western Power's faults line on 13 13 51
2) if power lines fall across your car - stay inside the car until help arrives
