Power supplies in Kalbarri were interrupted this morning, affecting approximately 1200 customers.
Western Power crews are currently in the area carrying out ground and helicopter inspections of the power lines.
A fault has been identified, which crews are now repairing and inspections of the remaining power lines continue, to ensure there is no safety risk when the lines are re-energised.
As a safety precaution during high bushfire risk periods, Western Power restores the electricity supply only after the lines are visually checked for possible hazards.
Western Power is working quickly to restore electricity supplies safely but the estimated restoration time is expected to be after 9pm, because of the requirement to inspect the full length of the lines.
What to do:
1) if you see fallen power lines - stay clear and call Western Power's faults line on 13 13 51
2) if power lines fall across your car - stay inside the car until help arrives
