The Grey Corridor option (the western most option of the three considered) outperformed all other corridor options and was recommended by Strategen.
This announcement followed six months of stakeholder consultation including; local community, state and local government authorities, industry and environmental representatives as well as specialist and local interest groups.
By collating stakeholder input with detailed analysis, three main corridor options were identified (with several derivatives) to pass through areas with the least number of constraints.
A sustainability assessment considered social, environmental, economic and technical factors and determined the Grey Corridor as having the least overall impact. With the exception of the technical factors, the weighting (importance) of these factors was determined by the community and stakeholders.
