An independent consultant, GHD, has been engaged by Western Power to undertake a comprehensive Sustainability Assessment. This assessment will determine the preferred corridor for the proposed transmission line from Kojonup to Albany and for the potential new line from Albany to the Southdown mine near Wellstead.
The Sustainability Assessment provides a means to identify and compare possible corridor options. This assessment will ensure that the importance of all economic, social and environmental considerations are clearly understood, directly incorporating the values of relevant stakeholders into the decision.
The Sustainability Assessment produces outcomes based on a transparent and consultative process, to assist in achieving the best possible outcome for all stakeholders.
Stages of the Sustainability Assessment (PDF 32kb) are shown in the attached diagram.
