Boddington Gold Mine expansion project

The Boddington Gold Mine Management Company (BGMMCo) Ltd has applied for access to Western Power’s transmission network to receive additional power for the Boddington Gold Mine Expansion Project.

Situated 120 km south of Perth, the Boddington Gold Mine closed in 2001 pending planning approval for the expansion project. The mine will be fully operational by September 2008.

The existing 132kV transmission line supplying the Boddington area does not have sufficient capacity to meet the increasing needs of the mine, so significant network reinforcements are required.
