Leading the way

Western Power contributes to energy conservation in a number of ways including:

Energy Education

Western Power education consultants visit up to 150 schools each year, talking to over 30,000 students from pre-primary to year seven about electrical safety and energy efficiency.

Smart Grid development

A smart grid is the application of communications and information technology to a traditional electricity network. It enables Western Power to remotely monitor and manage the electricity network. It gives real-time information on network performance and consumption which can be used to make sustainable and commercial decisions on infrastructure operation and development. Importantly, it also enables consumers to monitor their energy consumption and make informed choices.
