Power outages - 8pm
Release Date: 10 June 2012
Electricity supplies in the southern half of the state have been severely interrupted as storms have brought down parts of the power network.
Currently 162,000 properties are without power across the metropolitan area and south west.
Western Power is urging people to stay away from any fallen power lines or poles as there are numerous serious hazards
There are 269 power lines, 179 street light wires and 86 poles down.
Western Power is requesting the public to only call its customer call centre to report hazards, not power interruptions.
It is expected many homes will remain without power for several days.
Crews will work through the night to make areas safe before restoring power.
